Hello 👋 I’m Alastair. I’m a software engineer and cofounder of Foggy Box Games .
I began studying BSc(Hons) Games Technology at the University of the West of England, Bristol in 2010, graduating in 2014 with First Class Honors.
Throughout my study and since graduating my experience has covered:
- Senior Software Engineer at The Range
- Cofounder & Programmer at Foggy Box Games
- Technical Director with PlayWest at the University of the West of England
- Student Intern with Mobile Pie
PlayWest
PlayWest is a student facing games development studio at UWE, Bristol. I was initially brought on as a graduate and in time I was to direct some of the more technical aspects of the games and software PlayWest was producing; such as the CLAir-City Mobile Game
Foggy Box Games
I then co-founded Foggy Box Games in 2017, and brought the fun physics based food game Brunch Club to Nintendo Switch, Steam, Playstation 4, and Xbox One.
In February 2022 we announced Startenders ! An intergalactig bartending game coming to Meta Quest, Meta Quest 2, and Playstation VR!
The Range
In 2026 I joined The Range, specialising in data-oriented systems, retail application programming, and internal tools development. I develop large-scale retail systems and bespoke internal tools across a wide range of .NET and C# frameworks, focusing on performance-critical applications and data processing pipelines.
